VRS thermostat

Featured Replies

Had a quick skout through search but carn't find it

Had a quick look under bonnet but it doesn't look obvious where thermostat is,

Anybody want to point me is sort of direction as to where it is,

What temps do everybodys vrs's run at and how long does it take to warm up cos mine seems to take ages, hence the new thermostat

It lives in the block behind the alternator.

If driving constantly, it should be fully at 90 in about 5-10 mins. If it moves after hitting 90 it may be at fault.

It gets warm but struggles to reach 90 degrees unless sat in traffic, it never goes above 90,

On motorway temp drops ands won't get to 90 degrees so am guessing its jammed open then

Does sound like it.

Thats a nice little how to.

Do you have an engine warning light on for this? I have an engine warning light on and have the same symptoms.

The fault code is for the coolant temperature sensor, however I have replaced this already and reset the fault code but it comes back in a day or even sometimes within an hour or so!

Any help would be appreciated.

Eric.
