Errmmm(mpg)?

Hi guys,

Picked up the wifes brand new vRS on friday and so far its great. The only problem is that I think its lying to me! On the 70 mile trip home from thorpe park yesterday we averaged 54.4mpg according to the display! I can only assume that its making it up as it goes along as I was expecting low 40's. Will be interesting to see what the brim to brim figure is!

I've got the opposite worry - I've just bought a 2008 pd 140, and the display tells me 37mpg. I'm driving in a non-spirited fashion, so I'm hoping the brim-to-brim will tell a different story. From other owners, it looks like 44mpg is common.

What's the first things to check before I take it into the dealer? Clean the injectors with some Redex and check the air filter?

Mike.

Depends on your speed, if the figures shown are still as when I had my Furby, you should prob expect between 50 - 52, provided you still see this as average for the tank.

My furby was approx 2 - 3 mpg out, unlike my current car which is 5-6mpg out.

P.S You interested in coming to a Kent meet ( food & chat ) ?

Sounds good. Where and when?

I've had my CRi vRS 4 months now and the computer says I'm getting 56mpg per tank, whilst brim to brim I work it out to be 52 to 53mpg. My previous petrol vRs after 20000 miles was indicating 38 mpg whilst actually returning approx 34 to 35 mpg. That's about 18 mpg difference between a run in petrol and a still tight Diesel! As to which is the more fun to drive- the petrol by far!!
