Anyone know how to fix it?

Featured Replies

I believe this has been covered b4, but I cannot find any "how-to's" or relevant pictures. My pre-fl Octy hatch suffers from terrible wind noise above 65mph from the rear passenger side door-the leading edge of the quarter light window. I have tried various adjustments-does it need the base of the upright frame moved inward/outward, or forward/backward?? (I.E. towards the interior of the car or towards the front wheels?) Can anyone help?

TIA!

Lower the relevant window.

Get something a few mm thick that will fit in the window guide at the quarterlight division post - An old number plate or coaster is about the right thickness.

Hit with hammer.

I went for 2 firm-ish hits at the top, middle and bottom, pushing the post towards the rear of the car.

Nice 1.Thanks. Will try ASAP. Did it work for you? ;)

Automotive silicone sealant.Worked perfectly on my car.

Yeah, it just sounds like a seal has gone or needs "popping" back in. Try tapping it like suggested with a wide, thin section of soft material like plastic, or the sealer will do the same trick.
