dsg automatic 1.4

Featured Replies

when were these first introduced into the uk market

ive been on the skoda second hand website but there doesnt seem to be many about

are they hard to find

thanks

IIRC they only came on the market when the facelift Octy 2 was launched in early 2009.

There were also supply problems with the engine

I think the 1.4TSi with DSG is a great combination, will be possibly looking for a nearly new one next year for my wife

Yes, not many about. I had a test drive at my local dealer, they have a 7 month old ex demo SE in silver. I wanted to see if the 1.4 TSI would be powerful enough for me, wasn't planning on buying an auto but I found the 7 speed DSG and the 1.4 TSI to to be a fantastic combination, seamless gearchanges, smooth and quiet engine, and plenty of mid range poke.

Looking on the Skoda site, eBay and Autotrader, as you apply more filters to the search the numbers of comes comes tumbling down - petrol are a definite minority, and petrol, automatic, 1.4 litre cuts the numbers down to single figures on a national search.

Just looked again and can only find 3 currently.

I ended up getting one from a dealer 50 miles away, as they had an identical spec ex demo in Storm Blue, which looked nicer to me. Now had it three weeks and am very happy with it.

I waited 4 months for my Octavia Elegance 1.4TSI DSG and have not been disappointed.Very smooth to drive & plenty of mid-range poke. The DSG changes in Sport mode are virtually unnoticeable.

Would thoroughly recommend this car to anyone who does not want an out & out performance car, then look at the 2.0TSi or vRS,for day to day driving the 1.4TSI is superb value for money.

Great to hear. Should be getting mine in the next couple of weeks, can't wait.
