Octy II iPod question....

Featured Replies

Quick question for Octy II owners regarding iPod capability...

Have I understood this correctly? If you have the Bolero stereo with MDi you can play the Ipod through the stereo but the only capability you have is playing music via playlists. If you have the Columbus sat nav then you have FULL ipod capabilitiy i.e you can scroll through artists/songs/genres etc as if you were using your ipod normally.

Just looking for some clarification before I start looking at used Octy VRS's. Thanks.

Not from what I can tell - my mate's Octy vRS has the Bolero and he can play what he likes from his iPod and iPhone (and mine).

Columbus has sat nav and hard drive, Bolero has no sat nav or hard drive but has built in 6 cd changer. Both units can be connected to MDI. Mdi is a seperate interface that can be connected to either Headunit. MDI gives "full control" of ipod with either headunit.

MDI gives you full* control over your ipod regardless of if you have a bolero/columbus

*I say full, it obviously won't give you album art/genius etc
