I had a the cheapo awesome remap done and if revo are as good as I've heard then you'll love it.

It's one of the few "upgrades" I have done that I just wouldn't remove, see my Life em lads post.

Will be good to know how you get on. I'm thinking of a remap soon but unsure who to go with. Kinda reduced it down to Awesome, P Torque or Shark... but Awesome are really close to me and now do Revo so if you have a good experience that could help.

A very good friend had a revo map on his leon fr tdi 150 and within six months he had a new turbo and clutch system. Are the two related i dont know.....

Revo and Superchips are quite aggressive maps in that they deliver in a massive way so you know you've spent your money on something that works. Unfortunately they're not as friendly to components as a Washbrook (Unit 18) or Shark remap where they are tuned to give you a bit more across the whole range rather than EVERYTHING low down.

If you want to know you've got a remap then Revo will do that. If you want a car-friendly remap then Unit 18 or Shark may be a better long-term bet.

driving style has alot to do with blown turbos and mashed clutches. on nearly all diesel remaps u get a surge of torque low down in the revs, if you constantly floor it below 2500rpm your gna kill the clutch no matter what, its not far from its limits standard! as long as you let your car warm up and cool down properly your turbo should last, although theres alot of luck in guessing wether your turbos healthy beforehand or not, thats the risk you take.lol but its well worth it . best bang for your buck mod!

I have a revo map and i love it! It is a bit mad though, you get wheel spin in 1st and 2nd in the dry, and even in 3rd when its wet!

I have an sps though and only turn on performance at weekends to preserve the clutch/turbo.

You can really tell the difference when you turn it on, thats why i like it. You have a sence of money well spent.

Ive also been to ben at shark but he couldnt give me a trial due to the revo map, but seems a top bloke and was really helpfull. His map is cheaper and he does a similar thing to an sps. so its really down to choice.

A mental map (revo) or a conservative map (shark) both well worth the money.

Cheers, jay.

Its the flywheel that will go as well if flooring under 2500 rpm. Its the torque spike in the map that will kill a clutch really, and knowing how to drive a car i.e not riding the clutch all the time.

Its like the Mrs, you've gotta warm her up before going straight in, and make sure you cool her down or she'll still be spinning
