Need new interior mirror?

Featured Replies

Need to replace my interior mirror as its cracked. I have the black vRS non wired one and no rain sensors etc.

What are my options for a replacement mirror? Can i fit the auto dimming golf mk6 mirror or does it need power to dim?

mine already has an auto dimming mirror - i think it was part of the light assistant package?

yes it will need power..

Yes, I know others who've retrofitted this. There's a guide somewhere... might be on another VAG forum though, I forget. Will have a look.

But yes, as simple as fitting a standard mirror - just the extra step of tapping into power. I think others have used the feed for the interior light? Could be wrong though, you'd need to double-check.

Rob - this only became an option on the vRS FL. Not sure if the OP has an FL, given that it's listed as an 09? Could be I guess....

Magic cheers for the info lads. Forgot all about this post to be honest until now. I managed to get a normal one for £4 delivered so will sort the urgent bits out on the car and then come back to this mod.

I have the passat W8 interior light in my leon now which has similar downlighting as the mirror and useful when night driving and a nice little touch. Happy Days :)

how much was the W8 lights? been thinking of this myself, hard to fit?

About £40? Have a look round though, as you might get a 2nd hand one. Also check the Catvision version, from the Superb Mk1.

If you see that Foxy link above, for the mirror fitting - there's a W8 guide on there too.
