cd changer

Featured Replies

I have just found that my VRS i bought 4 months ago has a 6 CD changer under the passenger seat. I have put some CD's in it but cant get it working. When I press the CD button on the radio am I right in thinking if I then press one of the numbers it should play that CD? as it does not it says "no CD magazine" I do not have a maual for the changer just for the radio which does not help at all. Also the CD's I put in will not eject when I press the button which could be a power/cable problem, Which fuse is for th CD changer. any advice will be very welcome.

When you push the magazine in the CD changer should load all the CDs - not quite sure how but it cycles through them all and you can clearly hear it happening. And then pushing the button on the changer ejects the magazine. It certainly sounds as if your changer is missing its power supply.

Yes - pressing the CD button switches to the changer and the six number keys select the CDs - you can also put one into the unit still and thus have a 7 CD system. Pressing the TP button (curiously) then switches back to the radio.

The later general car manuals have the CD changer info as part of the manual rather than being a supplementary book as the earlier ones. However the usual link - FABIA MANUALS - is now empty... see below for update

Slightly off topic I have an Octavia with a stream radio, with a changer in boot , it displays, when you go to FM to CD , 1 through to six and shows if you have loaded a CD, IE once you have loaded one it will show no CD for 2 to 6 until you put more in. I am sure one of the tech ice guys on here can help with the fuses

Cheers for quick response fellas. It did not make any noise at all when I loaded the player so power problem seems to be the cause. will have to check connections under the seat and behind the radio. I have checked the fuse diagram on here but cant see a seperate fuse for the CD changer so presume it must work from a power supply from the radio if so that may have a inline fuse.

WOW Thanks DRJ, just been out to the car to try to load CD in the unit, and hey presto it works! Was told by the dealer when I bought it over 4 years ago that the head unit would not play a CD, as I had a changer! So now have 7 as you say. Very handy for holidays when your boot is full with luggage and no access to changer. Thanks again you made my day ;):party:

I tried that link several times before reporting the matter to Škoda in the Czech Republic - and they've responding noting the links are still there - and they are now but the page was blank below "For the Fabia model the following documentation in the PDF format is available: " when I tried on Wednesday...
