What revs at 70 on a 1.4 TDI PD

Featured Replies

I have a Greenline 1.4 TDI PD DPF.

It has the longer gearbox. I can find out ratios from the literature but I am after some real world info.

To anyone that has a standard 1.4 TDI PD. What revs is the car at when travelling at exactly 70 mph in fifth ??

I just want to compare it to mine as I have a sneaky suspicion my fourth gear is the same as a standard Fabia 5th gear which may explain why I use fourth nearly all the time except on motorways and dual carriageway.

As I thought. My fourth gear is virtually the same as fifth on a standard 1.4 TDI. 70mph in fourth is 2600 revs.

Might explain why I spend so much time in fourth. Fifth is mostly resigned to fast A roads and Motorway.

Before I click I'm going to guess 2500 revs round about. I have had a couple of 80bhp Fabias and Roomies as courtesy cars and seem to remember they ran around that at the legal limit.
