One touch windows down (or may be not)

Featured Replies

When I first got the beastie, the windows all had the expected one touch up/down feature i.e. a quick tap and the relevant window goes down until you touch the button again, and similarly to bring them up again.

Much to my surprise, when I was approaching the tolls the other day, it seemed to have forgotten how to do this on the drivers window (all the others continue to behave as expected). Looking in the manual, I don't see this as a configurable option. So, my question - is the a 'visit the dealer for a warranty fix' or is there some trick that I've missed?

Not sure how to answer this.

The "one touch" does not work when the ignition is off. This is probably not the case with your problem.

One Touch can "fault" by re-opening the window when you expect it to close. Cure by opening the window and then hold on to the lever to close. When the window has closed, continue to hold on to the lever until you hear a click. Had to do this twice now.

On my Audi it forgets this one touch thing when the battery had gone flat a few times. Unlocking it a few times synced it though. But here is what the guru on the A2 forum sent me on how to reset windows and I guess it is the same for a Yeti:

To sync windows do this:

Lower the window a little using the electric window button, then release the button. Raise the window till it's shut and then release the button again.

Immediately, lift the switch again, as if to raise the window (you can't obviously, as it's already shut) and hold the switch up for a count of 5.

Repeat for the other windows.

By the way to sync a key that does not want to open the windows anymore from the fob or not wanting to remote unlock:

The resetting procedure is as follows:

Manually lock the car with the key in question, remove the key from the lock, then re-insert and manually unlock the car.

Put the key into the ignition and briefly start the car with it. Turn off, remove the key and immediately press the unlock button on the fob and the central locking will actuate.

If it doesn't, just re-do the process until successful.

Thanks! Who would have thought windows could be so complicated.
