Turning headunit back to standard, how to get power working?

Featured Replies

On my fabia, the owner changed the headunit to an aftermarket one and put back in the standard when i brought it.

Had to drive home with no music :(

Been told i need t switch two wires back over?

Do i need to remove the headunit and then plug some back or?

Anyhelp is great.

Thanks.

Craig.

Hi Craig

I don't think it is as simple as that ! the "swap two wires" info is if the radio won't hold the memory, and by swapping the wires one is the permanent feed and one a Ign live .

You will need to remove the radio, and determine if you have voltage on the correct wires and that they are connected ok, then check the fuses both in the fuse box, and one in the back of the radio.

other than that the radio could be duff

Sounds like he may have blown a fuse.

With an aftermarket stereo it should have come with the ISO adaptor which as he said you have to switch the two wires in order for the stereo to keep its memory. I would think it is the fuse (internal fuse box), as this has happened to me before.

HTH - good luck!
