Fabia 1.4 TDI Rolling road result...

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I was along at Extreme in Whitburn today with the Briskoda Scottish Region and stuck my estate on the rollers and I was surprised to get this result.

Run 1.

Maximum Power at the wheels:77.3BHP @ 3544rpm

Maximum Power at Engine:90.2BHP @4326rpm

Maximum Torque: 154.9 lbft@2533rpm

Run 2.

Maximum Power at the wheels:78.9BHP @ 3572rpm

Maximum Power at Engine:90.5BHP @4308rpm

Maximum Torque: 155.3 lbft@2507rpm

90.5BHP, which I'm very pleased about but yet again skoda seem to be quite conservitive about their power figures.

Surely a rolling road cannot measure power at engine shaft. Is it just a (highly ott) guestimate based on scaling up the wheel measurement.

That's how it's done, and yes, it's accurate to a quite a high degree. I dyno my motorcycles regularly after tinkering and use the dyno from time to time to fine tune bikes (that's motorcycles of course) particularly the injection fuelling maps. Best way to set some bikes up, and cars too of course!

Skodaboy, has yours been chipped?

80bhp mate, I was only hoping to get about 85BHP or a wee bit less than what Skoda suggested.
