Felicia immobiliser woe.

Featured Replies

This is turning into a saga, 3 months ago my 1300 R reg Felicia wouldnt start, towed it to a mate who is good with car electrics, he plugged his computer in & it turned out to be an immobiliser fault, actually there was no transponder chip in the key, tried the spare key & the car started & ran fine.

Last week i lost the one good key. My mate put me on to a bloke who came round today & fixed it, He removed the immobiliser changed the chip in it & supplied two new keys with transponder chips.

The car started & ran fine with both.

Went out to post office etc & car started fine 3 times, got to a job to measure up & on leaving it starts for 4th time runs for a split second & dies, try again same result etc etc. Car now stuck in the yard.

Phoned the man & he sez the immobiliser is working!

No problem getting him back but what the hell is going on, he reckons there is no way to disable or get rid of the thing is he right?

Is there a way to bypass or get rid of that stupid black box?

If i cant fix it the car is a scrapper which is going to be a right pain. If anyone can help on this i would be grateful!

you can't bypass the immo unit...

Ran the diagnostic on it again this lunchtime & nothing wrong found at all. The car now starts & runs fine. Only thing i can think of was that after a week standing idle the battery was a bit low. Now fully charged & seems ok.

Either that or it was having a halloween sulk!

If anyone needs a good key & immobiliser man i can recomend one.

damn back to the drawing board!

If the battery had dropped below 12V then it's quite likely that was indeed the problem. Unless you'd somehow inadvertently wrapped your key in tin foil :D

if its spi you can fit a fav ecu on and then there is no immob
