Inflated cost on winter tyres

Featured Replies

I bought my winter tyres in early September from my tyres.

The tyres size is 225 45 17 and I originally bought my tyres in early September 2010 2 months ago from my tyres.

I bought nokian wr g2 v rating and paid £102.50 per tyre.

They are now selling them at 131.60, which is a 28.39 % increase.

I bought nankang sv2 v rating for the back and I paid £61.60 each and they now 74.10 each which is a 20.29 % increase.

I checked out the prices for summer tyres and they remained unchanged.

It appears that my tyres are charging peak prices on winter tyres, knowing that people will buy. Glad I bought earlier!

It's a simple case of supply and demand, I too bought mine a few months ago (mid August) when they were £65 each, they are now £95!

Just wait until it snows and they will go up even more!

I paid around £85 for my winter tyres (Kumho KW27) in September, and mytyres was about that price. They're £125 now.

Luckily my other car (Nissan Primera Sport+) which is sitting in the garage has a spare set of Primera GT alloys with winter tyres so if it snows I will switch to that.

Refusing to pay rip off prices for another set for the Superb and they are not cheap in 17"
