Bolero ?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if the Bolero can display album art that is embedded within the id3v2 tag of an MP3 file?

Many Thanks

Mr.P

Album art is not displayed by either the bolero or columbus.

I also discovered that if you've got the album art embeded in the MP3 tags, then it often confuses the Bolero and it won't display some or all of the track name, artist name or album name... had to go through mine and remove the album art from within the MP3 and then it displayed the details correctly...

Being a Mac user & iTunes, I'm confused. Remove album artwork? how do you do that? Unless you mean remove it from the songs within iTunes.

Firstly, (in a very light hearted way) I do feel sorry for you being a Mac and i-tune user :giggle:

In MP3 terms (not sure how it works with the silly Macs), there are two ways to have album art.

1) the image is saved in the same folder as the album

2) But in the case I was referring too, the part of the file which records the artist name, song name, track number etc is the ID3 tag. Version 1 is very basic which seems to be what I think the Bolero prefers, then there is Version 2 which includes many more things to add, one of which is album art. To add or remove this, you can use programs such as Tag&Rename or MP3Tag.

If one was using Itunes, I would suggest converting all songs to MP3s using something such as DBPoweramp, and save all files in an structured directory. I use Artist>Album Name. You can then delete the evil which is itunes

In a light hearted way I love being an enlightened multi Mac user emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Thanks for that. iTunes might let me do that, but as everything worked ok on my previous Columbus, I'll not bother doing anything different for my new one when it arrives. Unless it doesn't work.....but I'll be BT streaming I expect most of the time. From my iPhone emoticon-0136-giggle.gif (except when i'm using it to post on the forum.)

One happy apple addict.

I could be wrong but I believe iTunes (certainly on the Mac, which I use) doesn't embed the album artwork in the MP3, but simply links it to the MP3 file, so as long as you're using MP3 files with iTunes, you can just select and burn ... I've made several CDs for the Bolero and they all seem to work OK anyway.
