my 07 vrs has done nearly 50,000 miles with no change of pads or fluid since i owned it from 19,000 miles, should i get both changed?

a bit of bite has gone but no funny noises or jddering when braking.

If the pads are wearing thin, change them both. If not, don't bother and be thankful for your long lasting brakes!

Brake fluid should be changed every two years. The brake pads should be changed if they are down to 3mm.

I would agree with Danroly, at the very least, you should be thinking about changing the fluid on your VRS at this time. A visual inspection of the discs and pads (don't rely too much on the pad wear sensors) may reveal if you need them changed....or a good service centre should tell you but it is not impossible for stock break discs/pads to last this long.

However, I always had a problem with the stock pads and discs even on the standard petrol 200 bhp VRS and have since uprated them. Braking should never be compromised and you may want to think about this

Brake fluid change is now 3 years not 2 anymore,however as yours is nearly 3 years old & done 50k id replace the brake fluid.
