Fabia 1.6 tiptronic keys

Featured Replies

Hi, I've recently got a used 2010 level 1 auto., and it only has central locking/immobiliser. There were 2 keys with it, but no tag with any kind of number on it. The hand book says this tag should have number on it needed to get a new key. I went into the dealer we bought it from, and the salesman said the tag only had the Chassis number on it, and that was all that I needed should I ever require a new key. Can anyone tell me what exactly this key should have on it, and is the salesman right? If not I guess I'm going in to see him and get him to speak to the previous owner, and see if she can find and provide this tag. I'm assuming there that it wasn't given to the dealer when she traded in the car. If I don't get it, what do I do about getting the number, and, more importantly, a spare key? Thanks for any help here.

Keys are ordered on a secure system from Skoda by your chassis number, no codes or numbers are needed.

To order a key you just need to visit the parts dept with proof of ID and the V5 and order it which can take 5-10 days. Then visit the workshop to have all the keys programmed.
