maxi-dot on Scout

Featured Replies

I ordered a Octavia Scout TDI last month which is due for delivery in March and just read that they are now also available with DSG so promptly called the dealer. He told me that this would add another 6-7 weeks to delivery so regretably I left it there but it did prompt me to go through some of the specs again and see if anything can be added without incurring delays. And now the question: does anyone know what is so special about the Maxi-dot trip computer over the standard trip-computer? Apparantly it comes with the multi-function steering wheel I have just added.

Maxidot looks more premium, for example the 'door open' warning rather than just being a little red light is a proper larger graphic which shows exactly which door is open.

It also provides you with access to numerous different menu's and settings which allow you to tailor the car's features to suit you, for example coming home lights, automatic door look, alarm chirp etc. etc. Without Maxidot most of these settings require a visit to the local dealer.

Well worth the small additional charge...

I must say I am not a gagets man at all, but although it is an expensive option I would strongly recommend going for bluetooth option. Firstly because it gives the best signal and crystal clear calls and the very ammusing text function which reads out the text to you which has given my friends much fun sending rude texts!

Apart from the safety feature I think it makes car look better with steering wheel controls plus you get the maxi-dot thingy ma bob included in this price. PS wouldnt let DSG delays put you off as delivery dates can change at a whim! So if you want it go for it but would strongly recommend bluetooth option.
