Leather

I went to Seat Surgeons South today to book in to have my seats re-trimmed in leather and gave him this photo as a guideline:

However, he said he can't clearly see what type of leather it is and doesn't know if it's normal leather or Nappa leather. I originally got quoted around the £1,000 mark but he said Nappa is a further £200 (ish). What type of leather do you generally go for? Nappa looks a lot nicer on the little samples he showed me but it's nearly £1,250 fitted if I want Nappa. Ouch...

That's not nappa. That's the cheapest option at York Seat Surgeons. £800-ish. Sounds like it could be worth a drive up north after all.

Are they the same company?

They were going to be partners but they had a falling out apparently. Are you 100% sure it's not Nappa? When I viewed the samples today the non-Nappa leather didn't look anywhere near as nice as the Nappa. The photo above looks really smooth which is how Nappa looked whilst the non-Nappa had a lot more texture.
