metallic rattle

Featured Replies

i have a metallic rattle from front end.....

i have checked the glove box and sunglasses for being the culpritt.

it seems to be front wheel related

checked wheel nuts and for obvious play in track rods and drop links.

i don't have any knocks ....just a sporadic rattle.

Does it go away when you brake lightly? Could be caliper/pads

It could also be a broken spring and the broken bit is rattling on the strutt support

Is it a buzzy vibration rattle like a coin vibrating on a tin tray?

Try your ticket holder - just tap it lightly with your finger nail and if there is a tiny gap to the windscreen that is your culprit. Had it on both my Octavias and drove me mad until SWMBO sat in the car and got it straight away! Cured by putting a rubber band around it.
