Meet Roxy.....

Featured Replies

After the longest week in the world, I went to London today to collect Roxy. She's a 140 Elegance, with Rough Road, heated windscreen, electric seat and spare wheel - in storm blue.

IMAG0143.jpg

On the 240 mile drive back to East Yorkshire, we sat at 70, and the maxi dot averaged 48mpg - which I was quite happy with.

The likes, (most of it!), but in particular:

-driving position

-responsiveness

-dancing head lights

-the bluetooth

-streaming audio from my phone

-cruise control

The could be better

-mirror has no blind spot bit (as some mentioned recently, just smalled mirrors then I'm used to)

-coming from a normal estate car, the boot with the spare wheel is a little small (I knew this when I order, it's something I will adapt to!!)

But it would seem that I'm one happy new owner :D :D

Nice to know you had a safe journey home with the SM, I made the journey the day before.

What was your experience with the hand over?

I would be interested in what material your rough road package panels under the Yeti are made of? Described in the brochure as metal but my under engine cover is plastic, so was wondering if the spec has been changed?

Hi Mr. P,

nice looking Monster and glad to hear you had good drive back to the East Riding.

Regards,

TP

Congrats on your new monster. Another one up north! Looks brill.

What are the electric seat & mirror like?

Mike

Lovely, lovely! Congrats! AND the first car I know about on here with the electric seat and folding mirrors! We want a review please! The online Yeti manual is still totally out of date and does not show either option's operation nor that of the heated windscreen. Does the car at least cone with an up to date manual?

I can't wait to get my car from that very same Dodge showroom!

Re the manual, PAT was deliverd with the very first version but with loose leaf supplement pages. New manual arived about a month later. So far they have produced a new version approximately every 6 months. If this pattern continues expect the update any time soon.

The handover was ok - yours?

Just off to wash her and investigate about the rough road package.

The electric seat is awesome - though I don't have the foggiest how to use the folding mirrors?? :wonder:

The manual includes details about the electric seats, but nothing about folding mirrors......

Weird. Well from within the car there is a setting on the mirror control to close and open them manually. Or once you've locked the car you press the lock button again for two seconds and as soon as they start to close let go of the lock button. They will close automatically then and open again when you you put your key in the ignition. Note however if you have windows open holding the lock button will close them first and then you need to press and hold it again to fold the mirrors.

When locking the car try holding the lock button on the remote for a few seconds, after you have locked the car, to see if that works. They should then move back after unlocking the car and turning on the ignition.

There should be a setting on the mirror dial with a square or something, if you turn to that you can manually fold them.

Look forward to your playing with it and reporting back.

I'll be wanting folding mirrors and a heated windscreen when I order my next Yeti in 2013 :D

When's the next meet up of the NYOC? (Northern Yeti Owners Club). I'd particularly like to see the Storm Blue one in the flesh as I quite fancied it when we ordered ours but they didn't have anything in that colour to show us. We ended up opting for Steel Grey and ended up getting Cappuccino :giggle: As you may guess from my posts, blue is my favourite colour.

Can one get folding mirrors fitted after market? Mine was a dealer's ex-demonstrator so an original Sept 09 Elegance model; at least I've got a sun-roof (tee-hee)!! Wouldn't be without it.

I'd love a NYOC meeting. Anyone fancy a run to Scarborough one Sunday pm??

Someone said they've seen it done on the Tiguan forum. But the costs are in the thousands of pounds and not hundreds I'm afraid. A friend also once had to replace an electric folding, heated auto dimming mirror - and it was nearly £1,400 for ONE!

Hi Mr.P

Did you ever find out how to work the mirrors?

Mike

Nope - she does not have folding mirrors. I would find that more useful than boarding spots, which I still have not found a use for.....
