i live in north yorkshire near york, no ones taken the box off yet they just said with the mileage being 136k miles the flywheel will have gone. i checked all the history paperwork out and the full engine rebuild what was done didnt have clutch changed. where can i get a g60 flywheel and vr6 clutch from mate?

As said above, definitely makes sense to change to a single mass flywheel.. better feel through the clutch and better biting. It also is far more cost effective the next time you come to do the clutch and saves masses (no pun intended :smirk: ) of money.

definitely worth the extra for the valeo kit, i fitted a transmech kit before on my old car, release bearing gave up after about 3k miles and apparently thats fairly common for them.

You could also get the vRS clutch kit and a G60 flywheel, possibly for cheaper.. if not get one of the above kits and fitting at a garage you'd probably be looking at around £200 dependant upon garage

You could do, but they won't fit or work with eachother! I guess you meant get a VR6 clutch kit and G60 flywheel!

The disadvantage of getting one of those 4-piece kits is that they are not OE quality, and the parts are specific to that kit, which limits you on future clutch changes.

Running the OE VR6 clutch kit means you open up a whole new range of options and upgrades for the future, and you know exactly what your looking for. Likewise with G60 flywheel.

I bought my G60 flywheel, flywheel to crank bolts and coverplate to flywheel bolts from Skoda. I then bought an LuK (OEM) VR6 clutch kit from GSF. So for future clutch changes, I just go and get a VR6 clutch kit again (which is cheap). My parts cost me £178 total.
