Vrs drivers window dead

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Got a 54 reg vrs which I only use at weekends and this weekend had an issue with my drivers side window...

I put the window down to clear some rain water and noticed as it got to the top it stopped and went back down,I thought this was odd so tried it again and it did it again!

Waited til I got home and pressed the button when it made a terrible grinding noise with what sounded like shattering glass falling into the lower door. I managed to push the window back up so it was secure and he window was 100% in tact so can't be any glass that has shattered.

I know from owning a few mkiv golfs that the windows often failed and it sounds like obviously something has broken somewhere in the window assembly has anyone experienced this before?
