How can I tell if I have a diesel particulate filter?

Recommended Posts

as far as i am aware the DPF was not availabe on the 1.9TDI, only the 1.6 common rail, but as you are in oz the local regs mabe different to the UK

on this site there is a link to a decoder for the codes on the inside cover of the service book that tells you what options you have on the car

(found it http://briskoda.net/...-codes-decoder/ ), destructions here http://igorweb.org/equidec/howto.html

that would be a good starting point

For those who may wish to know: it doesn't have a DPF.

Glad to hear that, they are a very expensive nuisance when they go wrong which is quite often. Doesn't matter which manufacturer you go to they can all go bad which is why I finished up with the 1.6 petrol job. I suppose they may get it right one day but I haven't heard of a good one yet.
