Workshops for basic maintenance

Featured Replies

Does anyone ever run workshops that cover basic maintenance jobs? All I do myself is change the oil and filters, wiper blades and bulbs. I would like to be more confident for eg changing pads and discs, but worry that I might get stuck part way through and end up with the car unusable for a while, which would be highly inconvenient as it's 2.5 hours to work each way by train, and we only have the one car. I expect I'm not the only one who would happily tackle more jobs if I'd had some practical guidance.

That's the sort of workshop I was thinking of, yes. Thanks for that. I look locally (North Derbyshire) from time to time but only ever see arts or computer courses. Northampton's probably not too far though.

Try ringing the colleges near you to see if they run the same course?
