VRS Strange steering problem,

Featured Replies

Hi guys, within the last couple of days my 05 VRS has developed a strange problem, wich i will try to describe the best i can,

This only happens when i first get in the car in the morning and the engine is cold, when i pull away there is a slight thunk and the steering wheel jolts to the left on every gear change, once the car has warmed up it is fine ?

Once it is warm, when i come to a stop at traffic lights or crossroads and i take my foot off the brake there is another jolt in the steering, this only happens when the car is at a standstill ?

Can anyone shed any light on this, i am not very mechanically minded and dont know what to do about it, sure i can take it into a garage but not knowing what the fault is i could get stung for anything and wouldnt be any the wiser.

I really need help with this, as i am getting nervous when driving that i could be causing some serious damge

Many thanks MV

BUMP

It's likely to be a battery or charging fault, does the battery light come on with the ignition?, if not you could have a faulty load sensing wire from the alternator.

Ermm you sure you posted this in the right thread ? doesn't seem to have any relevance to my problem lol

it could be battery related, could be bad wires, duff battery etc, p/s pump not getting enough juice and cutting out for a millisecond hence the jolting, i'd first check that out as this its what it sounds like

Nearside console bush broken.

"...even a steering rack at £700 plus fitting"

A lot more than than I paid at a Skoda dealer
