Need a new infinity Kappa tweeter

Featured Replies

Can anyone help? The tweeter was dead (woofer still being powered ok by components) so I took off the triangle shaped trim and checked the wiring. All seemed OK, but I left it hanging off, and then managed to drop it between the dash and door when shutting it, so now its well and truly "dented" - But I think it was knackered anyway.

So can anyone recommend a new place to get a tweeter... Maybe Andy_CCR can get in touch. ;) Its the tweeter from an infinity kappa 5.1 set, only need one and want to buy new to ensure its OK. ;)

Dented needn't be a problem - can you pull it back into shape with a bit of masking tape or something?

Was it the passenger side. I would have sworn it was working before. I will do a bit more work with it at the weekend.

Just a thought, but you may be able to something from this site

No, I fixed that - I think one of yours wires had just popped apart and I re-attached it whilst at Trax. AFAIK the passenger one was always working, until my period of "quiet" whilst they've been silent due to amplifier swaps and stuff. Think now I just want a new one, but can't seem to find anywhere that does tweeters alone. :(

Jason, you will proberbly end up buying a new matched pair of tweeters from another source as I dought you will find exactly the same one on its own. Maplins and RS maybe a good starting point.

:woot: Tweeter was OK all along! I pulled the door card off, with half my "padding out" coming off with it (damned crappy tape!) and saw immediately one of the tweeter wires had pulled out the crimp... So, I just chucked the old crimp away, got a new one, took off a little more insulation so I could double up the wire (was a little thin for the size of crimp used) and re-did it. So, I'm away again!

Its such a nice feeling when you repair audio without spending any money at all! :D
