Finally pick up my wifes Octavia 1.8TSi DSG Elegance this morning ordered on 20th July after the first car ( collected16th July) was rejected and dealer took it back due to gearbox problems after 75miles from new!.

She went for Corrida Red with black leather, Curtain airbags, 17" wheels with sports suspension,Columbus DVD & Maxidot, $ spoke wheel and bluetooth and a spare wheel. Plan is pick the car up and have a ride out and a nice lunch somewhere, she'll be driving so might be able to have a couple of pints with lunch - perfect end to a c**p week at work

Congratulations. Shame about your first gearbox, but I have been impressed with my DSG so far.

At least you got there in the end

Patience is most definitely a virtue! I'm sure it will have been worth the wait.

I am curious though by the time you added all the extras would it have been better to get an L&K? That's the conclusion I came to and that's what I ended up with (a manual though).

She wanted a VRS originally but due to a back problem couldn't get on with the seats, the first one we had was a 'showroom special' and we got a good deal on it, after the problems the new one was ordered to the same spec and I added the bluetooth and columbus (at a negotiated rate) so I would be able to use it as a 'back up' car for work if needed (self employed). Also she didn't want a light colour interior as she is a chef and though it would stain.

We did about 130 miles in it yesterday and it behaved itself impecabily! very pleased with it, cant wait till next weekend when I pick up my Superb Estate!
