That little parking ticket holder clip...

Featured Replies

I had to defrost the inside of my windscreen in a hurry this morning and managed to snap the bloody thing clean off with my scraper! An unmitigated disaster, as I'm sure you can imagine.

Are these things replaceable or are they installed with the windscreen? Can't find any reference to them on the Skoda accessories site.

I believe they screw in under the A-pillar trim, but I've never actually taken mine off to check...

Ah ok ok, so there might be a chance then. Ta.

Dos yours actually fit tight enough to hold a ticket? Mine doesn't

Well, it did.

Yep just pull the trim off the pillar and its screwed in.

More to the point what were you doing defrosting the INSIDE of your windscreen?? You must have water ingress for that to freeze?

Mine does on my current car, although on my previous vRS it did only until the screen was replaced......

Ta. Trim fairly easy to remove?

Yeah this, there's always a bit of moisture hanging around, and it was bloody freezing this morning. Will have to allow myself an extra 10min in the mornings from now on!

I had ice on the inside of my windscreen this morning too. Hopefully moisture left over from my cracked high-level brake light which was replaced last week.

I'd forgotten how much longer diesels take to warm up in the morning. The price of efficiency :smirk:

yep just give it a good tug!

I broke mine, and got a new one from the dealer. I think it was 75p (but they gave it me for free!).

In they end they also fitted it for me when my car was in for something else (I think it is straight forward to fit, just be careful to not damage the A pillar trim).

Just replaced mine. Cost 90p from dealer.

Pull off A pillar trip towards the other side of the windscreen. About 4 clips hold it. They are well made so will not break.

Then you need a Torx bit to remove the screw and the remains of the old clip, and install the new one.

You might need a bit of jiggery pokery to get it nice and flush against the screen. I had to trim a bit of sealant back to make it sit flush.

Nice - they even have a store fairly local to here, although I've never heard of the store! And doesn't seem like you can order online?

Mine 'fell out' a while back, so for the hassle of sorting it and taking the A-pillar trim off, I might as well just replace it with an adhesive one

Clas Ohlson is the IKEA of DIY stores. :)

All Scandinavian and contemporary. Not been in the country long, just a couple of years I think.

Cheers. A contemporary parking ticket holder eh? I can't think of anything better :D

part number 1Z0 867 159 A £0.92 inc vat from the dealers

We have a price war between an offical dealer one & a non official one emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

As you can see I live in Kent, but went to visit relatives in Liverpool before xmas, and SWMBO spotted the store so we had to go in emoticon-0145-shake.gif she spotted this & remembered that Skoda had then fitted as std, so she hat to have one for her car.

They are so useful, I really missed it when i switched from the Fabia to the Fiat, glad to be Skoderd

Haha, the dealer one isn't self adhesive though :)

Had a windscreen fitted two weeks ago and they broke the clip.Ordered one from dealers, phoned yesterday to say it was in,got it and fitted it today. An easy job, thanks to the info on this site, and it holds the ticket firmly. Was surprised at the price, 20p Must have cost them more for the paper bill that I got with it.
