Finally, LED sidelights and stubby aerial are on order, should be fitting them this week sometime. Been wanting to do this for ages. Will post photos when done.

All I need to do now is get hold of PastyBoy regarding some badges and I'll be a happy bunny!

Which led are you going for?

Which led are you going for?

The eBay ones which were linked to in the LED thread, about £6 for the pair. I've tried some 99p "ordinary" W5W for my number plate lights - they were OK, but not too bright, and also some 99p LEDs which I put in the overhead lighting. They were carp in that application but to be fair, the lens appears to be refracting most of the emitted light at 90degrees to the LED, not straight out. Net effect is that they are nowhere near as bright as the original bulbs.

I Find the ebay ones really good, makes the car stand out more. I'm still wondering how it's affected my dip beam as that seems alot better now. If they won't work either way round, the metal prongs need bending out abit as they are set too narrow. Took me a couple of attempts as when putting the bulb in the holder they kept on getting pushed in again.

I'm keeping my normal areial, listen to the radio too much lol

yeah, I'm not sure what to expect from the stubby aerial to be honest. Knowing my luck I'll break the base removing the old one then the new aerial won't work!!emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

You have got one thats amplified haven't you???

Would of got something like THIS myself and then got a shorter screw in mast

Err you haven't brought a base just the stubby bit!!!

i know, hoping the aerial will work on the existing base. Reckon its 50/50 but worth a punt!

:giggle: oh!! Should be ok then as the standard areial's amp'd lol

well the aerial's arrived and fitted. Although I can get a signal on it, the station doesn't hold and goes off looking for a better signal. Which always comes back to BBC Humberside!!!

Have contacted the seller to see what they're going to do.....

:giggle: Had a feeling that would happen, don't think a shorter areial would work on most cars

Is it the length of the aerial or perhaps the relatively short thread? I wonder if it would improve a bit if I trimmed the rubber away to allow a little more, ahem, penetration?

Or is it just a bad idea if you live in the sticks like me?

I have got absolutely NO idea how you did both sides in 5 minutes! I had to remove the headlight, remove the connectors, take the back off the headlight, then change the bulb, reconnect the wiring, swap the bulb over as I had it in the wrong way emoticon-0120-doh.gif and then reassemble!

Look good though don't they?

May buy a pair for my interior lights too emoticon-0103-cool.gif

Excuse the crappy picture but this is the picture showing the contrast between normal sidelight bulbs and the LEDs.

It's more marked "in the flesh" so to speak.
