Damn Skoda and simple little things causing such problems!

All I wanted to do today was fit a low mileage rack from a fabia vRS to my car, and now I find my angle sensor is different and after shelling out £107 on a new angle sensor, it doesn't even come with wiring like my original sensor does, and I don't even know if the signals are the same, given the different shape. Considering butchering the old sensor, but now not sure what to do! DAMN frustrating, so now looking into getting a different type of rack! Grrrr! The "new rack" is already bloody well 90% installed as well! [sigh!]

Sorry Bud.. Doesn't sound fun!

Yeah, ISTR the old sensors had the wire attached, but the new ones were separate. Easier to replace when they fail, I bet! Seeing how the new metal ones supposedly are a straight swap for the old plastic ones, I presume no coding is required - just need to find the wire if that's the case! :)

mmm had this kind of trouble when my rack was replaced..

Garage had fitted the one they ordered only to find it wasnt the same.

Had to wait for another rack to be sent out.

Well, gave in in the end and have ordered a re-con rack in the style of the original one. It is nearly on but ran out of hours today so I came home today in a Pug 306 convertible. :D Something kind of reminiscent of borrowing the MX5 over last winter when my car played up.....

Should all be right in the end. KW V2 suspension is all on - set to just one "tweak" off hardest. B)
