Strange climate control problem

Featured Replies

I had my car in to Skoda to get the climate control fixed today and they said they have replaced the temperature control flap motor. I'm assuming this was the part making odd whirring noises from behind the glovebox. The problem I'm having now is that the passenger side of the car will only output cold air even when set to HI. All vents at that side are the same, only blowing cold air. The drivers side of the car blows out warm air as expected. Any idea what they may have done wrong?

The climate control has dual settings, so you select different tempertures for driver & passenger. I would guess that when the dealer was investigating the problem with the motor flap, they have done something so the flap position has stopped warm air passing to the passenger side.

Take it back to them and ask for them to recalibrate all of the flap motors, or find someone with VCDS who can do that for you. If that doesn't cure it I would suspect a disconnected or faulty temperature sensor.

Thanks for the advice, back at Skoda now.

The car is booked in for next week so they can look at it again, they said that the flap motors were recalibrated and reset yesterday.
