Featured Replies

Hi there i recently tried one of those cassettes that allow you to play through your ipod via a cable running from ipod to cassette(sure you know what i mean!). It didn't play, display shows 'mechanic' and it now won't eject the cassette. Any ideas?

Cheers me dears!

Oh and it just beeps and shows 'tape eject' when i press the ejct button but does nothing

try manouvring the cassette with a pen or your finger whilst you press eject

i had the same problema while ago and solved it this way

end result now is I just keep the cassette permanently in the head unit !

You need to take the radio out, remove the top lid,and wind any spilled tape back in,then manually move the tape mechanism to eject the tape. This problem starts when oxide off the tape gets on the rubber idler ,on which the tape sticks. The end result is the take up reel stops turning, and the mechanism gets jammed, and needs cleaning.

whats a tape :giggle:

You would be better of with an 8 track its the future ;)

There's no "tape" on the OP's unit. There's just a static thing in the cassette which pretends to be magentic tape for the tape pick up head. It's probably the cable coming from the cassette that's stuck. I have one of these units too. I have to wiggle the cable to get the "tape" to eject.
