Conformation of build date (at last)

Featured Replies

Hi,

First time at posting anything but having been a regular visitor to the site i wanted to let you know that my eagerly awaited Yeti is confirmed at last as having a build date of 22nd November (This year i hope !!!!).I know alot of people are similarly waiting and thought i would let you know my story so far as regards times etc for possible comparisons .

I placed my order for a 140 TDI 4x4 Yeti in steel grey metallic with the options of spare wheel / heated windscreen (down too -25 last year) and 3 spoke steering wheel with audio/phone contols on 17/07/2010 and was initialy given a delivery date of around about the middle of October.Obviously this didnt happen and despite numerous polite calls to the salesman he couldnt really tell me when too expect it but that the order was still showing on the system.Found out last week that car has a CONFIRMED build date of 22/11/2010, so all things being equal he is looking at 2nd or 3rd week in December for delivery.I am obviously over the moon and cant wait for the car to arrive and can only say that if it is as good as my octavia scout then winters up here in Scotland wont cause me too much problems.

As a point to anyone interested i contacted Skoda UK about the concerns that some owners had about the possible chipping of the paint around the rear door arches from filth coming up from the front tyres and was telephoned back too say that Skoda had recently put out a bulletin about this concern to all dealers and that if my Yeti doesnt have the adhesive film fitted at the factory as standard then the dealer would provide and fit this free of charge ( i have already confirmed this with them and they have said yes! no problem) so that is an added bonus for me and may also be of benefit to you.

Obviously a long wait for me, and for others i believe the story isnt much better, but having looked at numerous reviews and articles i think the waiting will be worth it.

Regards to all, keep up the good work and continue to spread the word about what fabulous cars Skoda's are.

You lucky person! My order was placed a month after yours and I initially had a build week 48 allocated but since then - like many others - I have gone 'off system'. Maybe I will only be a month behind you but I guess it depends on the spec: mine is also a Muscavado/Gobi 170 Elegance (manual) with RRP, satnav, electric drivers' seat, adjustable boot floor and heated windscreen. I suspect some of these parts may be in short supply.

Hi,

Yes lucky indeed, just hoping that there will be no delays to transporting/shipping etc to delay it further.Sorry to hear that your order has been one of those that seems to have dissapeared off the system and can only sympathise with you.Your car sounds great though,i was seriously looking at getting my car in Muscavado aswell but plumped for the steel grey having seen the demonstrator car at the Skoda dealership. You may well be right about the short supply of various bits and pieces form Skoda's parent company VW and obviously the demand for the Yeti has taken Skoda and the dealers of guard.

Keep at the saleman and let them know you are still around and taking notice.Skoda UK have been very good at answering questions i have had so a call to them might throw light on your situation.

Hoping you get good news shortly.

Scott

Result. You really feel it is real when you have that date. And HMI: I'm sure your date will pop up soon and hopefully be quicker than you thought.

Ah. So this bulletin says they will retro-fit the door foils to any Yeti that dont have them? Hoorah. That is great news.

That's is good news Scotish. I ordered my 140 DSG Elegance on the 29/7/10 and it was built last week and is on the way to the docks now. The spec I ordered is Candy White, Gobi interior, with the electric seat pack, heated screen, types pressure monitor, RRP, spare tyre, Columbus, sound system, towbar preparation, park assist. I think that is what I ordered:-). And I added some of these about 2 months after I placed the order.
