Headlights Problem

Featured Replies

Can anyone shed any light :giggle: on this please , the past few nights when Iv'e been out I have noticed the drivers in front putting there hand up over there interior mirror because it appears that my lights are blinding them as if I have my main beams on , which I haven't , I haven't altered my bulbs apart from changing my sidelight bulbs , I have tried the dimming function but to be honest it doesn't seem to be doing anything . I don'twant to run the risk of being pulled over by the boys in blue , the car had an M.O.T when I bought it from skoda so surely if there was a problem then I would not of passed ?

So before I go into Skoda is there anything I can do in house first Cheers :smirk:

Run round to a local garage and ask them to put it on the beam aligners. Should charge you about £5. Dealer wll probably charge you a lot more. Any VTS (MoT test station) will have decent aligners.

Dimming function?

The rotary knob next to the headlight switch dims the interior lights only.

Am I missing a new feature?

Just had my car MOT'd, although they checked the lights worked OK they didn't check their alignment...

I had the same problem just after taking delivery of a new Elegance Estate - the lights were far too high, even with the height setting a long way down, so I asked the dealer to adjust them so that they complied with all legal and safety requirements. They did so without any hesitation, and I think they should do yours too. The car has been issued in an unroadworthy condition, namely that it does not comply with the requirements of an MOT test.

if the lights were ok prior to you having the new side light bulbs fitted then the head lamp units must have been refitted incorrectly i suggest returning to the garage to inform them of your problem
