Loss of coolant

Featured Replies

I mentioned few weeks ago about the mystery of my coolant water dissapearing and the dealer could not find any leaks , which gave me concern whether it was a head gasket (39000miles). Today under the car on the nearside there is a pool of pink water and the level had dropped again. I am not able to get underneath to see what/where it is leaking from but am slightly releived at seeing it. Any idea where it can be coming from?.

Could be the radiator, difficult to say without looking at it.

Weeping water pump was the problem on a friends 1.9pd, which was less than a year old.

same happened to mate of mine - 1.9TDi 1 yr old and 14000 or so miles. The water pump was replaced under warranty as well as the cambelt which was contaminated with coolant.

Regarding my coolant leak, today it went into Skoda dealer and this time the pressure test found a seam in the rad' weeping. You could have knocjked me down with what i had to pay, £332.98. Mind you last time i had a rad go was about 1986 with a Transit which had done about 200,000 miles while our Elegance has only done 39000 miles in 5 years. Any thoughts on defective materials?.
