MDI Fitting Instructions - VW Manual

Attached are a couple of documents that I have scanned in from the original VW instructions that come with the MDI interface kit. It took me about 1 1/2 hours to fit mine to the back of a Columbus and route all of the cables accordingly. Relatively straight forward if you follow the instructions for the pin outs.

Hope this is helpful to anyone else interested in retrofitting an MDI.

All reference to cable colouring is accurate and matches the Skoda looms exactly from my experience.

Is the skoda scala slave cylinder concentric and located inside the gearbox for all models, or is it just the 1.5 engine which doesn't have it on the outside of hte gearbox? I'm seeing different reports about whether the gearbox needs to be removed to check or replace it on a 1.0 litre engine.

Hi, I've recently sold my MK2 and bought a MK3. I'm having issues with the exhaust gas getting into the coolant. I need to find out what is causing this. Is it likely to be the EGR or something more serious like a blown head gasket or a crack in the block? I've only had this car for 5 weeks so am looking to approach the dealer I bought it from. They only gave a 30 day warranty. They already had it in for a week and were supposed to repair this but they haven't done it.

We bought our Scala Monte Carlo Edition 1.5 tsi back in December and from late January it has had both mechanical problems and electronic gremlins. The mechanical problem have mostly been sorted, new rear discs and pads that were making noises like a wheel bearing was rumbling, the gearbox has had a software update and a reset (it's still not perfect).
