Mud flaps on a VRS

Featured Replies

Hi all, within the next few days my 16 Seat bargain alloys will turn up and my plan is to have them sprayed black and fit them with winter rubber. Coming from a Subaru background I have always run my cars with rally flap (£300 Prodrive WRC flaps)

Has anyone got experience with these? They seem very cheap? Are they easy to fit, how etc. would i be able to just run these in the winter or will they leave holes etc.

thanks

I have them fitted and they are easy to fit. They use the existing screws for the arch liners to fit and do not leave holes. I have run with them on since february and they do stop a lot of mess from getting thrown up the side and rear bumper of the car. I ripped the rears off recently but that was my fault. I reversed up a high kerb (lowered car) and the flap got stuck bewteen the kerb / wheel and the rest was history. Performance creations have sent me out a new set of rears very quickly to replace.

Since the rears went, I can see how much muck and dirt gets thrown up on the rear bumper from the wheels. Some like the looks of the flaps and others dont. I like the look of the Octavia with them on plus they keep my car cleaner for longer :D
