Ridiculous Quotes. Any advice?

Featured Replies

Right, so our current insurance company (Axa) don't really want to insure our modified Octavia vRS.

Called Adrian Flux, and they want £1,273.

My wife is the main driver and she's 29 and she's never had an accident in 11 years of driving (although we went to Australia in 2007-09, and some don't carry the NCB).

I'm 27 and I've been driving six years and likewise, no claims.

We both have three points on our licenses, and we live in Northern Ireland.

We were paying about £350 for a 150bhp Vectra, but for a 225bhp Octavia either companies don't want us, or they're being stupid with their prices.

Any advice?

im in NI too, we get charged stupid qoutes mainly because of the troubles and most companies and based in the mainland and still believe that we cant leave the car somewhere without it geting burnt out. try hughes insurance, usually reasonable, or just dont mention its modified which usually is the main problem with most insurance companies.

But, to not mention it's modified is to be uninsured.

It makes no sense. If I bought a car that was 225bhp from the factory, we wouldn't have a problem.
