After helping a fellow member swap his Nexus for a Columbus this weekend and finding out that the pin assignments in the multiblock connector are different for the CD changer and the AUX in between the latest generation and the previous generation I suggest that you look into swapping pins 2 and 3 on the multblock connector for the CD issue. See here <<Clicky>>

The battery flattening is cured by upgrading the canbus or installing a custom ROM on the Columbus.

The maxidot integration needs VCDS

VCDS used to be called VagCom, it's a combination of software and a cable that plugs into the diagnostics port in the car.

See here

Using the software to change settings, the car can be told that it now has a Sat Nav unit and intergrate this into the maxidot display

Oh yes. I have a VagCom 919 but Im not so good specialist to work with this. I had googled my issue many times but Im not native in english and dont understand everything perfectly. So I afraid to botch up everything.

I asked a help in Skoda but any Skoda in Dublin havent deal with this kind of issue before. Basically they dont know what to do... :o

You will get battery drain on that revision of gateway, I had a 'H' revision and have had to change it for this one, they are 140 quid + from the stealer.

This gateway comes from Germany, but should still work out a little cheaper.

I do agree on the battery drain issue, although if the radio isn't coded with VAS or VCDS it should turn off automatically (at least mine does every half hour or so; when coded it works as it should but drains my battery in about a day). But my hardware is a little older.
