Unexpected call from skoda uk

Featured Replies

I am pleased to say i have just had a call from skoda uk customer services to say that they are sorry for the delay on my new vrs octavia cr 170 dsg and that they can assure me that i will recieve my car before xmas and that they would like to offer me £150 towards sevice or extras of my choice. I was going to contact them about this matter but they beat me to the punch and were very sorry about the delay and explained that they had had a very good year, which meant that demand had caused such long waiting times especialy on the vrs deisel dsg. They explained that they only make a certain amount of certain engine and gear box combinations and that this combination had become very popular of late. So i can now expect my car around the 20th of december after ordering on the 31st of july. I have to say i am very pleased that they got in touch and offered this to me as i thought i would have an argument on my hands when the car finaly arrived. Oh and what a great xmas present i have got to look forward to now.

I've rang three times and there has been no mention of any compensation and I ordered on June 18th!

thats good of them but IMO they should have been doing this call around with compo for the last 4 months to people affected

yes i agree that they should do the same with everyone as between 18-25 weeks is £150 and after 25 weeks should be more again, cant wait now though and think i will put money toward sevice package.

You could have said fit a colobus system if you have not already ordered one

Can you remember who spoke to you? I'm waiting for somebody from SCS to return a call about the delay on my wife's Fabia Estate. It was ordered on 24 june. There's posts up on all the different Skoda forums giving different information. Although £150 from 18-24 weeks and £300 thereafter seems the most consistent!

Ordered my Octavia estate vRS two days ago with a diesel engine and DSG. Am told by dealer that I should expect a three month wait (Norway). The wait for a manual stick, but otherwise the same, would have been two months. I'll just hold out for an extra month I guess.

Had a return call from a young lady from SCS who confirmed £150 goodwill gesture from 18-25 weeks and £300 thereafter to be spent on accessories or servicing. Apparently the dealers know all about it and will claim the money from Skoda!
