Coolant Bottle Part Number

Featured Replies

The other half is having coolant level beeps everyday now it's frosty however the coolant is topped right up

I can find hundreds of posts claming they are about £15 but any one in the know about part number for the above?

Googling came up with both this site and this site which suggests 6Q0 121 407 / 6Q0 121 407A / 6Q0 121 407B

And eventually via Google I found it on this site - though the "how to" link there is faulty

Drop me your Chassis number.

Kev :)

That link appears to relate to the wrong part number as the posting I linked to advises:

Just a note about part numbers for this also.

The expansion tank part number is: 6Q0 121 407 A which seems to be the same as a VW Polo.

and NOT 1J0 121 403 B as quoted a few times on the forum. The latter part will not fit in about 3 places, and is from a Golf according to local VW dealer.

No - but having opened the bonnet and glanced at the bottle the number I posted is CLEARLY VISIBLE on the bottle itself!

So the moral of the story is look at what you've got!

Are they easy to change? Got to do mine as I'm geting fed up of the daily beeps! It's either that or short the sensor plug!

Just done mine with a part of the coolant pipe and it was a fairly easy change to do. A couple of nuts, a couple of pipes, changeover, attach everything back on and there you go!!! Should take no longer than 30 mins at a leisurely pace.
