Updating cd changer

Featured Replies

Had my octy for a couple of weeks now, and have noticed that the cd changer doesn't play any cdr/ws or mp3 discs. And being as most of my collection is mp3 discs, i just wondered what options are available.

I know one option is to just replace the headunit, but mine came with skoda satnav as an option, so would ideally like to keep that.

I've noticed a few various make cd changers on ebay that are compatible with mp3s etc, but would these just plug straight in? do i need to get a specific make? or is it not as simple as that?

Thanks in advance

I very much doubt they would work with the Skoda HU.

Probably your best option would be to buy an ipod adapter (eBay)that uses the cd changer socket on the Skoda HU. Obviously your Cd changer wont work anymore though.

Now there's an option :)

Wouldn't be fussed then about the cd changer not working as i can transfer all songs to the ipod.

Are these head units pretty simple to take out?

If it's a Symphony then I removed mine with two cable ties pushed into the slots.

Although i've just spotted this: CLICKY

Albeit a tad expensive!
