I do hope that he's OK in this Yeti-weather... ... ... ...

Hi George,

very much appreciate your thoughts; been tiptoeing round mainly in my son's Furby I, with very cheap Chinese all-season M+S tyres (165/70 R14), that don't do M+S that well :S

Avoided the Garrowby yesterday morning, weather locally was quite poor but better towards my workplace in York. Late finish though and the drive home and subsequent drive to work this morning via the Garrowby were interesting.

Took the wife's Furby II out tonight, very icy but considering it's running 205/45 R16 W (Conti Premium Contact 2) it felt much more sure footed, admittedly at a fairly Pedestrian pace :giggle:

Regards as always,

TP

I take it the 205/55 R16 Nokians would not have fitted being 20 mm greater radius?

Hi Fred,

sadly not, plus the bolt spacing on the hub is different; will have to wait for an airing next year me thinks.

Again like the top of the range Yeti the Elegance Fabia gets a tyre size that's very much limited to high performance summer or a few winter options but no all-season (I've found as yet). You can only laugh at the idea of W rated tyres fitted as standard to an 85bhp Fabia; can only think an ex Porsche engineer is now in charge of tyre size selection at Skoda :wonder:

Regards,

TP
