Passenger side rear wheel arch

Featured Replies

Quick question, just fitted some BBS alloys from a Highline Bora, and they are rubbing on the rear passenger arch liner, there is a protrusion, looks like where some sort of pump is? What is the equipment behind this arch, and is there any way to bash it out so to speak?

Cheers

What size are wheels/tyres?

Are you running on coillies?

They are 16" inch bbs montreals, not too sure of tyre size off the top of my head, and not lowered at all. What is it that is in the rear passenger arch, fuel pump maybe?

Jesus, how have you managed to get the tyre that far in the arch on standard hight!?!?

Matt

The Montreal is a 6.5x16 wheel with offset ET42. With the correct size trye (205/45/16) you shouldn't have any problems at all unless there's something seriously wrong with the back end of your car (my summer wheels are 16s with an offset of ET42 and they are absolutely fine with 205/45/16s).

You say you got them off a Bora. On a Bora they would be wearing 205/55/16 as standard, so if you've left those tyres on the wheels that will probably explain the rubbing - the 205/55/16 is about 7% bigger in diameter than the 205/45/16. Place a 205/55/16 next to a 205/45/16 and you'll see theres a huge difference.

Thanks Julie, I had a feeling it may be the tyres that were massive, they do dwarf the wheels abit. So does anyone know what it is in the arch, I'm dying o curiosity now, I want to take the liner out to check!
