I have just taken an look at my Tdi Octy's air filter as I have only covered 26000 miles from new and 3 years old.

The dealer reccommends changing the air filter at 40000 miles. Well mine had to be one of the dirtiest I have ever seen.

I chose a Piper Cross high flow air filter and there has been a noticeable improvement in the mpg (nearer to when the car was new) and a v. slight increase in power.

The TDI air filters have to be changed every 20k on my car. :confused: Although I clean my green cotton filter less than every 10,000 miles, because it seems to cack up quite quickly.
