there are so many brands of lowering springs for cars, and everyBrand has its own personality, any recommendations on brand and price, dont want rock hard but dont want to bottom out either,

Not bothered myself, but a lot of people on here tend to go with Eibach vRS springs, over the Tdi versions due to the extra nose weight.

Go for the Eibachs as Jeff says This will lower the car and improve the handling, but I'd recommend going for the matching Eibach dampers too. Ride quality is about the same but the car corners much better....
