coil pack fail?

Featured Replies

 Help!!!

can anybody help I think I've dropped a coil pack this morning, car had been slightly lumpy at idle last time I used it Tuesday night, then this morning the car became almost un-driveable feels like a tractor. Engine management light started to flash then came on permanently and will not go off, the car smells very bad from the exhaust almost a burning smell. I haven't got access to Vagcom so can't get fault codes.

THANKS

sounds like a coilpack buddy pull each one off until one doesnt change engine running and thats the failed one

With the engine at idle unplug one coil pack at a time. If one of them doesn't make any difference to idle when unplugged you have found the dead one. Oops westalic beat me to it :giggle:
