eNTYREly happy so far

Featured Replies

Finally got my Nokian eNTYRE all-season tyres fitted this morning, and so far they seem pretty impressive. Not really had much chance to test them thoroughly, but generally they seem equally responsive and quiet as the Dunlops, very stable through quite deep standing water and generally confidence inspiring in the wet and slippery conditions round here today. We'll have to wait and see what they are like in more extreme weather - and wait even longer to see how they respond on clean dry roads! I might even be asking them to extend their range to include 245/45R18 as the XF (also on SP Sport 01s at the moment) is not brilliant in these conditions.

Here is the ingenious tread wear indicator

I assume this is some kind of tyre pressure aide-memoire

Let's hope they are as good as my old Helios binoculars which were, like the Nokians, made in Russia. Well they ought to know about driving in bad weather.

See my posting to fliptop. I fitted the Nokians and am also very satisfied.

Hi Mark,

Thanks - but I thought you had the WRG2 winter Nokians rather than the eNTYRE all-seasons? Or am I getting confused?

Mark

Really appreciate this, so do keep us posted with updates on the varying road conditions we are all experiencing.

Just wondering how the Nokian eNTYREs were doing, thinking about getting some next time I change my tyres.

Still doing OK, have now driven in a good range of conditions, and occasionally without dog, cargo or other loose objects to restrain my exuberance. No problems to report, and the wear indicators on the front are now showing 7mm (8mm when new) after about 5000 miles, which suggests a projected life of around 25000 miles, which sounds pretty reasonable, especially as they are about 25% cheaper than the Dunlops.

Got four Nokian eNTYREs 215/60 R16 99V XL fitted yesterday. Cost £72.20 each plus £8.50 each for fitting etc.

Just in time for the cold weather and sleet/snow forecast in central Scotland over the next few days!

First impressions are a little more noise on rough surfaces but more grip than the original Goodyears (although three of these were down to about 3mm after 25,000 miles).

I know that the eNTYREs have limited snow capability and are designed more for cold wet weather, but that is exactly the type of conditions typical of a Scottish winter!

In any event, I found even the original Goodyears fabulous on the few days of snow we have had over the last two winters as long as the off road button was pressed.

Terrible pun.
