Is this a good price/ is it safe to buy?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

As a followup on this, I decided to keep the car and bring it back from the dead and get it to as close to mint as I can.

After a few extra opinions, I'm starting with the clutch/gearbox combo.

Went on ebay, found this clutch.

Does anyone have experience with these sort of parts and do you know if it's safe to buy them right off ebay like this and is the price good?

Thanks.

I've bought brake discs and pads, from E-Bay on numerous occasions for

different cars, but looked for a brand name ie 'Mintex'.

Suggest with your clutch job being very labour intensive, and costly, and use recommended Skoda

accepted type/sort, parts, to give you some sort of assurance and guarantee.emoticon-0148-yes.gif

That is a Skoda part - but is it the right one? You need someone with a parts catalogue - but in all honesty unless you're really tackling this yourself wouldn't it be better to get whoever's fitting it to source it - only one person to point the finger at then if it goes wrong...

Thanks guys.

Changed my mind again. Gonna be getting a Seat Leon (probably today).
